The Crew 2 Release Date

There is good news today for those who are eagerly awaiting for new information on the sequel to The Crew. Ubisoft announced at Gamerscom 2017 that The Crew 2 release date will be on March 16th, 2018. That might seem like a long time away, but you also have to keep in mind that the release date is subject to change.

Something else to keep in mind as well is that there will be beta’s that the public can get a chance to try out before the game is officially released. I was able to get in on a couple of betas of the original game before its release. Once on PC (that really didn’t work out too well) and twice on the PS4.

According to GameSpot, Ubisoft has also mentioned pre-order bonuses some of which include:

  • Pre-ordering any version of The Crew 2 gets you the Legendary Motors Pack, which comes with the Mercedes-AMG C 63 Touring Car 2016 and the Harley-Davidson Iron 883 2017.
  • The $70 Deluxe Edition comes with the Legendary Motors Pack and the Motorsports Deluxe Pack, which includes the Ford F-150 Raptor Race Truck 2017, the Abarth 500 2008 Monster Truck Edition, the Pilatus PC-21 aerobatics plane, and three “unique racing outfits” for your character to wear.
  • The Gold Edition unlocks on March 13 and comes with the season pass, the Legendary Motors Pack, and the Motorsports Deluxe Pack. The digital version of the Gold edition costs $100 and the physical version (which also comes with a steelbook) costs $110.

I like the fact that if you pre-order early or at least get the Gold Edition, you get to unlock the game 3 days early. The fact that it comes with a season pass and a couple of motor packs make pre-ordering the Gold edition worth it.

It was also recently announced that Harley Davidson will be partnering with Ubisoft to allow some of their greatest motorcycles in the game and as you can see from the bonuses above, if you pre-order The Crew 2, you’ll get access to one of those bikes.

If you want to register for any of the betas that the developers will allow some people to try out, you’ll want to go here and register. You can register for either the PS4, Xbox One, or the PC.

Well now you know The Crew 2’s release date and what to expect if you pre-order the different editions of the game. The only thing now is to wait and see if you’ll be accepted for one of the coming betas if you registered for it.

I am quite excited for the new sequel which will let you use a multitude of vehicles ranging from cars, motorcycles, boats, and even planes and a feature the developer is including in the game will let you switch between them on the fly!

There should definitely be more information in the coming months about the game before its ultimate release so you’ll definitely want to check back soon. I’m curious to see how the map has been redone. I do know it is in the US again, but they’ve remade it to better fit with the other stuff you’ll be able to use in the game and the graphics definitely look a step up from what they did in the first game.

  1. So what was the problem you had with the original game’s PC beta? The reason I ask is because I’m a PC gamer – never been a fan of consoles.

I’ll probably wait a while until this one’s been out a while before deciding whether to buy. I’ve been burnt too many times over the years with pre-orders. I prefer to sit back and wait for the developer to fix their game! Ubisoft, in particular, pissed me off after I pre-ordered a couple of the AC games, which were super buggy on release.

    1. It wasn’t the PC beta itself that was the issue, it was my PC, in particular my graphics card. It just was not up to snuff unfortunately and so I had to play with the all the minimum settings taking away from the game’s true graphical abilities. I can understand your reluctance to pre-order. I know Ubisoft has had a bad history of releasing unfinished or buggy games (it seems a lot of developers and publishers are doing that these days), but for me, I just can’t wait to play the games I’m interested in and so I continue to pre-order especially with the extra stuff they now include with it.
