Rockstar has not let up in keeping GTA 5’s online portion of the game fresh and exciting to play. Even though Rockstar’s parent company has said that eventually the updates will stop, they certainly don’t appear to be happening anytime soon.
It looks like this week there is a brand new update that includes a new GTA 5 adversary mode for the online portion to play.
The name of this new adversary mode is called Power Play. According to IGN, this new mode allows players to use short term power-ups to help you win against your enemies. Here’s a list from IGN of the power-ups and what they do as well as some extras in this week’s update of GTA V:
“These Power-ups include:
- Beasted, which grants players into the Beast, a special character type equipped with invisibility, super jump, and super strength
- Zoned: Slows down time
- Doped: Enemies start to trip out, interfering with vision
- Raging: Friendlies do more damage and take less damage
- Flipped: invert enemy controls
- Dark: Team vanishes from the map
Plus bonuses, discounts, and a new Vehicle:
- Three new Power Play Jobs
- Double RP and GTA Cash through the Power Play Playlist
- New Grotti X80 Proto Supercar
- Free Grotti in-game tee for logging in“
I must say those power-ups are very cool and I definitely want to try them out! Beasted sounds really cool where you can have invisibility, super jump and super strength as well.
I think the doped power-up sounds funny where your enemies start to trip out and their vision is messedĀ up because of it. Of course you can already do something similar to this in the game by going to a bar and drinking too much or doing an illegal activity in your apartment or home.
The other power-ups don’t sound too bad either and the part where the team can vanish from the map certainly is intriguing. I do wonder though how long these power-ups last though.
I know if you use the invincibility cheat it will only last for 5 minutes. I don’t necessarily mind that as it allows you time to get away especially if you have a lot of cops after you.
I certainly plan to give this mode a try soon if I can ever stop playing Uncharted 4 at the moment. I really want to try one of the largest updates since the online heists that was released.
I’ve been hearing many good things about the Further Adventures in Finance and Felony update and a lot of online players just can’t stop playing it. Who can blame them as you can create a criminal empire with a large base of operations which can be one of the largest skyscrapers in the game.
I certainly want to try this so I can get quite a bit more money than just from the survival challenges I tend to play a lot whenever I’m online with the game.
So what do you think of this new adversary mode for GTA 5? Do the power-ups sound like it will make it fun or is just an easier way to make the mode one sided? As always, feel free to post your comments!
This is a similar problem that I am having at the moment. I recently bought the PS, principally for the God of War series. Call me delayed, but money came at this point and I could not let the moment go..
Anyways, I purchased GTA too and low and behold am now looking for time to squeeze both games in.
The power ups in the adversary mode sound amazing and I definitely want to give it a try. The beasted mode does sound quite rocking, I must admit.
Thanks for the heads up, will be sharing it with friends.
