Need For Speed Reborn?

Spread the love

There has been good news regarding the new Need For Speed game. According to Gamespot, the game has now officially gone gold! In another recent post of mine about another game that has gone gold as well, I explain of what going gold actually means. It just really means that a game has fully finished development and is ready to be put into production to be sold in stores and digitally downloaded.

So now we have two new big open world games coming out for the holiday season. As I’ve mentioned before, it has been two years since we last had a Need For Speed game which was Need For Speed Rivals. If you haven’t already, check out my review of the game here. I thought it was a pretty fun game and I liked the fact that while it was open world, the developers had chosen to have a more natural setting to race around in instead of a city.

Well the publisher, EA, decided that it was time to stop its yearly release of the series and instead give a fresh reboot of the series. Some people have wondered if this is going to be Need For Speed reborn. The developers are going back to some more popular aspects of the series all the while keeping it open world which is what I like (and I assume what you like as well since you are reading this). Deep customization of cars is back, similar to what was in the Underground part of the series.

I definitely don’t have a problem with that and like that aspect as you could theoretically keep the same car you started out with, but just upgrade it throughout. I may certainly give this a try to see how well it stacks up to the other vehicles you’ll get access to in the game.

Need For Speed comes out next week on November 3rd so be sure to pick up your copy. I plan to get it at either Gamestop or Best Buy, I just haven’t made up my mind yet. I’ll definitely post first impressions and screenshots and videos of the game so definitely check back here soon! In the meantime, here’s a cool trailer for the game from the Need For Speed youtube channel. It will definitely give you a sense of what to expect in the game especially from the characters you’ll encounter in the story. Hope you like it!
