Well folks the great video game expo is well underway and you better believe there is some big E3 news to talk about!
There have been lots of game announcements which definitely include the open world genre and there has also been some big news for consoles themselves. I mentioned how not too long ago that Sony had officially announced a beefed up PlayStation system which is codenamed Neo and will support 4k resolution in games.
Microsoft is not being outdone in this department and has announced a MUCH more powerful Xbox system in the works that is codenamed Scorpio. The graphical power it is touting looks to make it even more powerful than Sony’s Neo.
The system is not expected though to come out until fall of next year so there will definitely be some time for more development on it.
Enough about the consoles lets talk about the great upcoming games! Ubisoft has announced an open world sports game called Steep. According to Gamespot, the game will include things such as skiing, paragliding, and snowboarding just to name a few. There are also lots of challenges and activities to do in this game so it should be a lot of fun especially with it being open world and the freedom that comes with it. No official release date has been given at this time.
The game developer Bethesda has some big news. Everyone should remember Elder Scrolls Skyrim that was released on the last generation of consoles and for the PC. Well it has officially been announced that there is a new re-mastered and special edition coming to the PS4 and Xbox One.
What has me really excited about this is the improved graphics and the fact that you can use mods on the console versions to make the game even better! There were just some unbelievable mods that people created on the PC version, but the console people unfortunately could not take part in those mods until now.
IGN and some other game sites have shown some video comparisons of the graphics between the PS3 and PS4 versions as well as the Xbox 360 and Xbox One versions. The colors are a lot more vibrant, the water effects are so much more realistic and there is more depth to the game world.
We also can’t forget about Watch Dogs 2. There has been more information of this upcoming sequel as well as more gameplay videos released to give everyone a good idea of what this game will be like. It appears that anything in this game can be hackable, not just certain things like in the first Watch Dogs and the say said the scale of the city in Watch Dogs 2 is even more massive. I cannot wait for this game to come out!
Other games have been announced such as a new Star Trek game coming for Virtual Reality headsets, a new God of War game for the PS4, a new game in development that will star Norman Reedus, a new open world racing game coming to the Xbox One (Forza Horizon 3) and many more.
This is just the first official day of E3 we still have the rest of the week to get through and you better believe there will be a lot more announcements and new games to be showcased. I cannot wait to see what Rockstar is going unveil and announce.
In the meantime, check out the video below showing the differences between the graphics of the new Skyrim version coming to the PS4 versus the older game systems. As always, check back for more E3 updates and post your comments!
E3 is where all the hyped is built, and I agree with you. Taking a look at upcoming games, makes you want to just play every single one of them.
We have just seen a day of E3 this year, let’s hope we see many other things in this E3, actually I’m waiting for Nintendo E3 conference to take a look at the new Legend of Zelda game.
Hi there JP! I have to say the new Legend of Zelda game looks amazing. So many new games announced and so little time and money for to buy and play them, lol!
Game Consoles are always improving at an alarming rate. Nowadays it seems that they don’t even give them a chance to mature before bringing out another system.
It would be nice if everytime they bring out a new system that they are designed to at least play previous version games as well from the older systems. Back in my days they use to.
I am fan of Star Trek and would love to see what the new game consist of even though I guess I would have to purchase one of those virtual reality headsets. I still have not come across a Star Trek game that has outdone Star Trek Online though.
Hi there Troy! Yeah it is kind of crazy how quickly they are releasing more powerful systems. While I like the fact that they have to support and play games from the current models, people are going to want the best looking games and sadly while the console makers have said they are not ending support for the current systems, people will be left in the dust who already spend a good amount of money on the current systems.
As for Star Trek, you should definitely find the video where they had some of the past and current cast members of Star Trek try out the new game in the virtual reality headsets. It is cool to see their reactions and they absolutely loved it!
